Heritage Boot Company is rooted in the golden era of cowboy culture—the music halls, the silver screen, and the spirit of old Austin. Founded in 2005, the company set out to make the best handmade, vintage‑inspired boots in the world, guided by the belief that quality outlasts everything. That commitment continues today through employee ownership and a deep respect for the craft.
Every pair is made in small batches in León, Mexico, the shoemaking capital of the world, by a third‑generation bootmaker and his daughters. Their family workshop produces boots using old‑world techniques, a 200‑step hand‑touch process, and materials like Goodyear welting, layered leather soles, and lemonwood pegs—creating durable, heirloom‑quality footwear.
Heritage Boot’s home is a single shop on Austin’s iconic South Congress Avenue, where retro charm, personal service, and the city’s eclectic energy come together. It’s become a must‑visit destination for anyone seeking authentic cowboy boots. I have been to the shop a number of times and was given fantastic friendly service as well as timely follow-up on items. I ended up purchasing a few amazing pairs for myself!
The store is now owned by Steven and Alie Twigger and their partner Kimber Breaux—three creatives who fell in love with the craftsmanship and culture of Heritage Boot. Together with their multi‑generational bootmaking partners, they’ve sparked a revival of classic Western design from the 1930s through the 1970s. Their mission is simple: keep the legacy alive, keep innovating, and share their passion for extraordinary handmade boots with everyone who walks through the door.
