About Kemo Sabe Boots
Founded by Tom and Nancy Yoder in a 400-square-foot Snowmass Village, Colorado, shop in 1990, Kemo Sabe has grown into a high-end Western retailer known for personalized service, custom hat shaping, and distinctive American-made goods. Wendy and Bobby Kunkle purchased the company in 2020, and its women-led team has expanded the brand while preserving its hospitality-focused identity. In 2021, Kemo Sabe acquired an El Paso boot company and launched Kemo Sabe Grit boots, drawing on craftspeople whose collective experience reaches back to the 1950s. Its handmade and fully custom boots require roughly 150 production steps, combining traditional Western construction with individualized leathers, colors, stitching, and design details.
