About Ray Jones Boots
Ray Jones was a celebrated custom bootmaker based in Lampasas, Texas, active from the 1960s into the 1990s and turning out roughly a thousand pairs a year at his peak, with a client list that reportedly included international buyers and waiting times as long as five years. His boots, often finished in slick box or French calf leather with contrasting roughout tops, were prized less for ornamentation than for their consistency and meticulous construction. Because none of his boots carried a label, authentication relies on construction details alone, and well-preserved surviving pairs now command significant premiums among collectors.
